Do you have an idea for a business that will use a commercial robot? Do you want to build a robot solution to a business or commercial process without building the robot? Do you have an idea for a robot app but you need a robot with which it will work? TRC will soon open its robust 3rd party developer program to the software developer community to build CPR-Apps.
TRC’s CPR 3rd Party Developer Program will have documented APIs for its robot and cloud services and an SDK for plug-and-play hardware accessories. On the software side, we will be releasing a 3-D graphical simulation tool to help you simulate robot operations and produce code that you can fine tune. You will be able to build a robot (CPR) app that will run on a standard CPR (from TRC or a major OEM) on a simulated model of the robot. You will also be able to select swappable modular components that together integrate into a custom CPR that you will later be able to produce through a TRC Special Partner Contract Manufacturer.
Think of a robot as an extension of information and communications technology (ICT) into the physical real-world, This opens the door to new concepts that can generate value in the real world. TRC’s CPR is an open system strategy. It follows the strategy that Google proved so successful in the smart device market with the Android OS. A developer can build CPR Apps that can be broad horizontal products or services, narrow niche solutions that would otherwise be impossible to justify economically, and after-market add-on apps that can sell to the installed base of compatible Commercial Personal Robots.
If you see the opportunity of being one of the early active developers of the NEXT BIG THING in technology, then reach out to us below. TRC is now interested in talking with executives of small to large software development organizations. If you don’t have an idea for a robot app but see the huge opportunity that the CPR-Platform creates and want to explore, we can provide you with several ideas from which to choose. If you work for a major enterprise’s ICT (or IT) organization and want to present a commercial robot business case to your executive management, we can help you.
Requirements to be an Alpha Member of TRC’s CPR 3rd Party Developer Program:
- Executive signature on the TRC Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Willingness to devote resources to building one or more robot app for a CPR.
- Understanding the issues involved with early technology and the corresponding willingness to be working with technology that is pre-launch that can change as development toward launch continues.
- Willingness to be communicative of issues and problems, working closely with the TRC engineering development team.
- Willingness to support the launch or TRC’s CPR with marketing and event participation.
- Need to be in the front of a future movement that will make Commercial Personal Robots pervasive in the office, retail store, professional facilities such as health care and law enforcement, smart city projects, education, and homes.

If you really have to ask this question, then you may not be ready to join the program at this time. We recommend that you either ask us to contact you when the 3rd Party Developer Program enters the Beta of Public Release phase. At that time there will be a strong qualification process to become a Certified CPR Developer™.
